Pochi giorni in Sardegna, nella parte centro occidentale, con puntate al villaggio Nuragico di Barumini, il Pozzo Sacro di Sta.Cristina a Paulilatino e le spiagge di quarzo bianco, da Mari Ermi a Maimoni. Il tempo e’ davvero tiranno. Davvero.

A few days spent in the central-western Sardinia, seeing the Nuragic village of Barumini, the Sacred Well of Saint Cristina in Paulilatino and the beaches made of white quartz, from Mari Ermi till Maimoni. Time is too cruel. Indeed.

DOC STUDIO SESSION

While listening to some Chopin played by Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, Doc and I put together a studio session to get some portraits for his website and his work.
Stefano Ciappi is a doctor specialized in homeopathy and he’s been working in this field for more than 30 years. He’s a genuine and sincere person, who deeply loves his work, always trying to find new solutions, inputs and suggestions for his patients.
As it should be.
It was a privilege to took these shots.

Mentre si ascoltavano alcuni brani di Chopin eseguiti da Arturo Benedetti Michelangeli, con il Doc abbiamo messo insieme una sessione di ritratti in studio, da utilizzare per il suo sito e il suo lavoro.
Stefano Ciappi e’ un medico chirurgo specializzato in omeopatia, ede sercita da piu’ di 30 anni.
E’ una persona genuina e sincera, che ama profondamente il suo lavoro, cercando di trovare sempre nuovi soluzioni, inputs e consigli per i suoi pazienti.
Come dovrebbe essere.
E’ stato un privilegio scattare queste foto.

“Take Me Home, Country Roads” as John Denver sang.
Narrow or broad white roads, the so called “Strade Bianche”, where tourists (and not only them) like to miss the direction, so they can find by accident and coincidence great places, out of the crowd, in the real country atmosphere.
Where you can see and feel the change of seasons easily.
There are still colors, smells and great sights, just wandering around.
Even the smallest and commonest corner is full of surprises and has intense cuts of panorama.

“Take Me Home, Country Roads” come cantava John Denver.
Strade bianche, strette o larghe, dove i turisti (e non solo) si deliziano a perdere la giusta direzione, per trovarsi poi in posti meravigliosi, aldifuori del turismo di massa, via dalla pazza folla, nella vera atmosfera della campagna.
Dove si possono ancora sentire e vedere colori, odori e grandi scenari, semplicemente girovagando un po’.
Perfino i piu’ comuni e piccoli angoli sono pieni di sorprese e hanno intensi tagli panoramici.

TAKE A WALK ON THE WILD SIDE

I walk often, as much as I can, as much as I can be free from all of the other things that more or less are crowding my life.
This is a path to San Michele Hill, at about 900mt, starting from a height of 250mt.
9 Kms of pure enjoyable strada bianca, surrounded by stunning touristic-view panorama in the heart of Chianti.
Cars slow down when they see you along the road, in order to not cover you white with loads of dust. The ones that pass by quite fast in big clouds of dust (bloody sugar), are usually the SUV’s and the old cars of the locals. They simply don’t care about you; they are even disturbed by you and they can’t get why you take this torture to walk for Kms going nowhere, along hard climbs and extreme downhills, just for the pure pleasure of it.
Yes, it’s hard to got it.
For most of them, not for all of them, fortuntately.
But when you’re gifted with a glorious afternoon with a springtime climate and cooled with a fresh breeze, well, you treasure the moment.

Cammino spesso, piu’ che posso, cercando di liberarmi di tutte le altre cose che affollano la vita di tutti i giorni.
Questo e’ il percorso fino alla Collina di San Michele, ad un’altitudine di 900mt, con partenza da 250mt.
9 Km di pura e godibilissima strada bianca, circondata da un magnifico panorama a misura di turista, nel cuore del Chianti.
Le macchine rallentano quando ti vedono lungo la strada, per evitare di ricoprirti di polvere in quantita’. Quelle che invece passano veloce, portandosi dietro nuvole immense di polvere (fottutissima maremma impestata), sono di solito i SUV e le macchine scassate della gente del posto.
A loro non importa di te; anzi quasi dai loro noia, non capendo proprio perche’ uno si debba prendere il disturbo e la rottura di camminare per chilometri, per arrivare da nessuna parte, lungo salite dure e discese estreme, giusto per il puro piacere di farlo.
Si’, e’ difficile da capire.
Per molti di loro, non per tutti, fortunatamente.
Ma quando hai la fortuna di incappare in un bellissimo pomeriggio con clima primaverile e rinfrescato da una leggera brezza fresca, beh, il momento te lo godi davvero.

Quando il sole e’ appena caldo e la luce e’ nitida, mentre tutt’intorno c’e’ solo il blu, con luci e ombre.

ABANDONED HOUSE

A house dated 1932, now abandoned waiting to be sold.
In a glorious winter afternoon, some shots of the gloomy and empty atmosphere of the hall and some images of the old pieces of history of the inhabitants like glasses, baskets, a teapot.
Everything has been divided among relatives and the rest will be sold to the best buyer. An era is gone.

Una casa datata 1932, ora abbandonata, in attesa di essere venduta.
In un bellissimo pomeriggio invernale, alcune immagini della buia e vuota atmosfera dell’entrata e alcune foto di pezzi antichi della storia di chi ci abitava come bicchieri, cestini, una teiera.
Tutto e’ stato diviso tra i parenti; il resto sara’ venduto al miglior offerente.
E’ finita un’era.

Alzheimer creeps slowly, brought forward by weak signs you don’t give so much attention.
You need to stumble against it and to wake up all of a sudden with a different person that talks to you, while you are still thinking to the previous one that is now definitely gone.
From time to time, you’re able to enjoy a new kind of relationship, taking the good part of the syndrome, if it’s possible to talk in these terms; while other times you feel devastated and lost in vacant eyes that simply ask you: “What’s up?”

L’Alzheimer si insinua lentamente, portato avanti da deboli segnali a cui non dai tanta importanza.
C’e’ bisogno di sbatterci contro la faccia e di svegliarsi improvvisamente, trovandosi una persona diversa che ti sta parlando, mentre sei ancora li’ a pensare a com’era prima di quel momento.
Ma l’altra identita’ e’ ormai andata.
Di volta in volta, riesci ad apprezzare e farti una ragione di questo nuovo rapporto, cercando di coglierne il lato positivo, se cosi’ possiamo dire; altre volte ti senti completamente distrutto e perso in occhi vuoti che semplicemente ti chiedono: “Che c’e'?”.
